Bagler IT is a Ottawa based start-up created by Dave Bagler with a focus on top quality websites in terms of function, performance and design.

While we develop websites and web applications on various platforms we specialize in Drupal development, hosting and maintenance. We’re your partner in all projects from planning, design and development to deployment, post launch promotion and future revisions.

Dave Bagler

Dave Bagler has over 6 years experience developing modern, data driven websites and web applications. Dave has led many software and web development projects for a variety of clients including the Public Policy Forum, HRSDC Office of Literacy and Essential Skills, House of Fine Carpentry, Deeble Sales Management and the Saskatchewan Institute of Science and Technology. Coming from a software development background rather than a web specific or design background gives Dave a unique perspective on web projects.

Too often I find that web development companies often try to manage all aspects of a website as if they are the same type of task. Often the programming of a website is managed much like the design. Treating the development of a website as a software project and somewhat decoupling it from the design process gives Bagler IT a competitive advantage.

Drupal

Drupal is a powerful, open source and multi-purpose content management system and development platform. It has a limited feature set right out of the box but it has a community of thousands of programmers who have created and continue to create wonderful, well-programed, well-tested and useful add-ons. It is incredibly easy to use; you can add, organize and edit content with little to no web skills. Bagler IT uses Drupal for all of their websites and encourages all their clients to use Drupal as well.

Bagler IT Sustainability Program

Bagler IT is committed to doing more with less. While often thought of as being fairly green the Internet can be very energy intensive. From the electricity used to develop the website to the electricity used to host the website, site data and database(s). At Bagler IT we recycle, compost, and have switched to Bullfrog power. Using Bullfrog power ensures that our electricity is from renewable, low impact and regional sources. More information on Bullfrog power and their green energy options is available on their website.

Our hosting provider (Rackspace Hosting) has developed their own sustainability program known as Greenspace.
